I am an Oracle DBA/analyst during the day (and occasionally during the evening). My hobbies include astronomy and electronics repair. I also enjoy classic (pre-PC, pre-1980) computing and reconstructing the computers themselves and their software/firmware (or, as they say around here, "beatin' on them darned 'puders"). Believe it or not, there were very capable computers and programmers before the PC, and with far fewer resources available to them.
I can be contacted at [the first letter of my name, and then my last name]@mindspring.com.
Links I like:
www.yahoo.com (groups are very worthwhile, email is very reliable and free)
www.astromart.com (Interesting groups, excellent astronomy related classifieds and links)
www.surplusshed.com (Edmund Scientific for the 21'st Century, except actually better)
www.bgmicro.com (My favorite electronics surplus place)
www.skypub.com (Sky and Telescope Magazine)
www.ebay.com (Bargains available, if you know how to play the game)
www.google.com (Possibly the greatest thing since the library at Alexandria)
www.drudgereport.com (A worthy home page)
www.slashdot.org (High-quality geeks, great articles)
www.mensa.org (On my resume', this line: "Certifications: I don't have any. What I do have is a membership in Mensa. One can't cram for their test, the answers can't be bought, and what they test for won't be meaningless in three years.")
Did you know that a significant number of Internet users don't know what USENET is?
